Session: Politics, Power & Perception: A Crash Course in Cybernetics and the C-Suite

Executive environments are not shaped by performance alone, but by the dynamics of politics, power and perception in the rooms that matter. This session uses a cybernetic lens to unpack the C-Suite as a web of feedback loops between social expectations, informal alliances and shifting narratives that inform the reality of management. Romana provides scientifically sound insight into how these mechanisms naturally affect executive decisions and what changes in your career once you move beyond linear thinking and start to see a system of interdependencies instead. Participants leave with a sharper picture of how information typically tends to flow in executive landscapes – and new ideas for how to move within them more deliberately.

Key Takeaways

  • A mental model for understanding influence: Noticing the underlying patterns at work in your executive environment will change the way you read everyday situations.
  • A reframed sense of your own presence: Seeing yourself as part of a larger context can fundamentally shift how you feel about resistance, recognition and your fit in leadership.
  • Practical levers for tangible impact: Identifying targeted adjustments in how you communicate in high stakes settings that compound into the business value you create.
